DILIA: I AM AN ARTIST BECAUSE THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION I am a Latin Performing and Recording Artist who resides in New York City. I have been performing professionally for many years now at NYC staples such as: The Plaza Hotel, Copacabana, Duane Park, The Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, Pianos, Caffe Vivaldi and many others. I also perform at my favorite gallery, CATM Chelsea. Weekly I am booked for private events. I work with HAI, an organization that brings the arts to those who can't reach them, bringing my show to special needs children, mentally and physically handicapped adults and convalescent homes. I find this work incredibly rewarding and I believe more people should do it. It is AMAZING work!! I also just happened to be on this season's AMERICAN IDOL. DILIA & THE MÚSICOS is the name of my band. I perform a mix of Mariachi, Latin Jazz, Jazz, Country and Torch Songs as well as Latin Country Originals. My musicians are UNBELIEVABLE and I feel so blessed to work with them. I produce THE LOVE SHOW, a show of artists of every kind who come together in a night of collaboration as well as improvisation. Everyone donates their time and we donate all proceeds to charity. It is a beautiful thing. They are bi-monthly so keep checking my website for upcoming dates or like my Facebook Fan Page. I am currently recording with some INCREDIBLY TALENTED people. I perform and record with the creator of THE SOUND OF NEW YORK, MIGUEL BONILLA. He has musically directed and recorded Marc Anthony, Elvis Crespo and most recently, Don Omar, to name a few. At the moment we are working on a song for one of his new artists, PAPITO SURCUATRO. They are ELECTRIC and I can't wait to share the new single with you! Only a couple weeks away! Miguel & I have plans to perform at the next WORLD CUP in BRAZIL! YES!! ¡¡VIVA MEXICO!! ;) I also am writing and recording with a BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT and DJ from PARIS, REDA BRIKI. He is a founder of LOVE THAT FEVER, which hosts events that host hundreds to thousands of people who want to dance and live it up! He was in charge of one of the stages at this past year's, BURNING MAN! He makes me dance for hours on end when he DJ's and has a MAGICAL view on life that shows through his music. We have an event a month and also, keep your eyes peeled for a HUGE EVENT that will be in TULUM, MEXICO! I also have a DANCE CLUB GIRL PERSONA named CHICA D. You can find my songs on iTunes. One of them, Disco Superhero was featured in the independent film, GOING DOWN IN LA-LA LAND. I will be performing live next month with my backup dancers! Also, Mexican Chocolate, has been picked up by 2 dance companies now! I perform live and dance with them! A BIG part of who I am is a philanthropist and human rights activist. I have performed for Amnesty International and Make A Wish Foundation and march, rally and raise awareness for Immigration and LGBT rights. I believe we all should be allowed to be who we want to be as long as we are not harming ourselves, or each other. I am very PASSIONATE about the fact that our world can be BETTER in this lifetime. My dream is to one day start an International Orphanage (or many) that is a School of the Arts. I want children from all over the world to be able to attend and give them an extraordinary education complete with life coaches that set them up with scholarships to the best schools all over the World.
